Hanya Elghamry is a multidisciplinary visual artist and curator, working in a variety of media including painting, photography, installation, video, and most recently augmented reality. She received two Bachelor Degrees in Visual Arts and Integrated Marketing Communication from The American University in Cairo, and a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from Central Saint Martins, University of Arts in London. Hanya has participated in and curated several group exhibitions, in London and Cairo. She has been working as the Senior Curator in Art D'Egypte | Culturvator, a Cairo based art institution that curates contemporary art exhibition in UNESCO heritage sites, such as the Pyramids of Giza Plateau, aiming to democratize art and make it accessible to the wider audience. Working with international established and emerging artists to curate and develop their practice, building institutional partnerships, and collaborating with different creative entities such as Christie’s, Bloomberg, Google Arts and Culture. Hanya also worked as an Associate Lecturer at Central Saint Martins, and currently is a Graduate Teaching Assistant at London College of Contemporary Arts.
